Corrosion
Nonrenewable resources
Iron (mineral) - is a part of non-renewable resources. For preserving ecosystems we need to protect mineral in order to reduce their consumption.
Iron – is the most popular and versatile metal. The scope of iron is very different. But at the same time iron can be the center of attack. Iron corrosion is usually appears in the form of rust.
What is corrosion?
Corrosion is the interaction of metals with the environment, which has a tendency to return to the primitive, the thermodynamically stable condition.
Metals and alloys are the result of conversion of the original minerals by the action of various forms of energy. Corrosion tends to release energy to return to their original state. Every day and everywhere we see damage caused by rust.
Corrosion damage
When rust attacks the iron, an oxidized part increases its volume of up to six times. It causes a permanent delamination, which completely destroy the structure, turning it into oxides and iron salts. An aesthetic restoration of rust products is expensive, but possible.
Sometimes it happened (especially for hollow, box-like products, etc.) that the product (painted for aesthetic reasons) had a great view, but the rust continued to undermine inside as long as the extremely serious consequences happened.
Galvanized material quality and economic benefits
The process of rusting is irreversible, that’s why the only one way to win to prevent the corrosion.
The only protection system is a creation a barrier. The barrier should be resistant to the corrosive effects for mechanical and chemical nature. It should be fully adjacent to the entire surface of a product that can isolate it from the environment.
The most simple and effective protection way is a hot-dip galvanizing. Ggalvanized materials live longer and with costs become negligible or even abolished.
